Cancellation

Letter to Our Community: 

In the days since the provincial government announced the cancellation of our hospital's capital project, we have been overwhelmed by the show of support in our community. We are truly grateful for your passion and commitment to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the people who make it work.

We have met with the Minister of Health and Long Term Care who reiterated that the decision to cancel the project was based on the need to address the government's financial pressures. Furthermore, we received a follow-up letter from that meeting where the Minister stated the following:

"I absolutely assure you that the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care is not considering the closure of WLMH."

The organization's leadership is working with the Ministry and our health care partners to develop strategies for reframing our capital redevelopment so that WLMH can continue to meet the health care needs of our community in the future.

It is our hope that those of you who have so generously contributed to our fundraising efforts for the building project will stay committed while we work on defining the new plan.
