WLMH Redevelopment Project - July 2012

Letter to Our Community:

The announcement on March 27, 2012 from the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care about the cancellation of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital’s new hospital project was wholly unexpected and very disappointing for everyone at the hospital and throughout our community.

Our commitment to the project and belief that West Niagara needs and deserves a state-of–the-art health care facility has not waivered and we have not in any way given up. The Hospital and Foundation Boards of Directors and Hospital Executive team are focused with urgency on returning to project planning with the Ministry.

The community has responded in volumes to ensure that our collective voice is heard. Without hesitation, the resilient citizens of West Niagara spoke up, took a stand in support of a new hospital for our region and began the "Make a Difference" campaign. It is with sincere gratitude that we acknowledge these efforts.

The staff and physicians at WLMH will continue to provide the tradition of excellent care that the West Niagara community and surrounding region has come to know and trust.

The passion and dedication of our staff, physicians and community will be a catalyst to ensuring the West Niagara community receives the health care that they need and deserve.

We remain positive as we move forward through this process and will continue to work for enhanced health care in our region.
